Surrendering: When Pain is Transformed into Extraordinary Blessings by Kenia Nunez {Book Signing Event Info}

Kenia Nunez appeared to have it all: a loving husband, three beautiful children, a nice home, a secure job, a contagious smile, and a hip attitude-but did she? After years of secretly running on empty, Kenia spiraled into a depression that would threaten her grasp on life and nearly destroy her marriage. It was not until Kenia's husband was diagnosed with cancer did she realize that life is meant to be lived with purpose and enjoyed to its fullest extent.
I just finished Kenia Nunez's first book, Surrendering: When Pain is Transformed into Extraordinary Blessings.

I've known Kenia for years. We went to high school together but we didn't connect until four years ago. A mutual friend reintroduced us on Facebook because we both have sons with autism. Kenia's son is older than Norrin but it was nice to have someone who understood what I was going through. Someone who could tell me that progress was possible.

When Kenia's husband was diagnosed with cancer, when she had to sue the Department of Education so that her son could have an appropriate education, instead of throwing her hands up in defeat- Kenia took control. During the most chaotic time in her family's life, Kenia reinvented both her body and spirit to find the "extraordinary blessings" in her life.

Written with raw emotion and honesty, Surrendering, is a collection of emails, posts and messages that spans the last year she shared with her husband.
